Age Group Information


Intramural Coed Pre-K Kick-It Soccer Thursday Afternoons  -- This program is for boys and girls ages 3-5 for 3 yr or 4 yr Pre-K.

  • Fall - The program runs from 1:30-2:15pm on Thursday afternoons for 6 weeks beginning the first Thursday after Labor Day.
  • Spring - - The program runs from 1:30-2:15pm on Thursday afternoons for 6 weeks beginning the mid- April

Intramural Saturday Morning Coed -- This program is for boys and girls in Kindergarten  and Pre-K - (Pre-K recommended 4-6 yr olds)

  • Fall - The program runs from 7:45am -8:30am  on Saturday mornings beginning the first Saturday after Labor Day until the 1st or 2nd Saturday in November.
  • Spring - The program runs from 7:45am - 8:30am on Saturday mornings beginning the 1st or 2nd Saturday in April and runs until the 2nd Saturday of June, including both weekends of April school vacation.

G2 -- The G2 program is for children  in 1st or 2nd grade. Skill development is stressed and playing strategy is introduced with the primary emphasis on fun. Teams play 5 v 5 with team sizes generally from 8 to 11 players. Teams are balanced with an equal mix of first and second year players, and with an equal mix of player skills. Team shirts are given to all participants. A #4 soccer ball is used.

G4 Travel Boxford -- All G4 soccer players are fielded in the Essex County program, which is non-competitive (neither scores or standings are recorded). Teams play 7 v 7 and are organized by player skills. A county-wide Friendship Tournament is held at the end of the Spring season. A #4 soccer ball is used.

G6 - Masco -- The G6 travel program participates in the Essex County league for 5th and 6th graders. Teams play 9 v 9 and are organized by player skills and across towns , rated as MTOC and County divisions. Every attempt is made to align kids with friends and balance between towns when forming teams.  A #4 soccer ball is used. League standings are kept with the top 2 teams in each group participating in a county-wide playoff with the group champions proceeding to a state championship.

G8 and Above - Masco-- The U-14 and up travel programs participate in the Essex County program. These teams play 11 v 11 (full-sided) and are organized by player skills, rated as division MTOC and County.   League standings are kept with the top 2 teams in each group participating in a county-wide playoff with the county champions proceeding to a state championship. A #5 soccer ball is used.

Grade11 and PG (Highschool/PG teams)Travel

The G11 and PG travel programs occur only in the Spring season. The only restriction at this level is that players may not be dual rostered, for example club/ODP players cannot be rostered on an alternate ECYSA travel team.
