Boxford Little League typically holds player clinics at the SportsPlex on Route 1 in Danvers to kick off the Spring season starting in February and going into March, when we'll hopefully be able to go outdoors. This year training will again include professional coaches to assist in the development of the players.
Dates and times for the baseball clinics will be announced soon.
In addition to our normal goals to promote fun and skill development, Boxford Little League uses these clinics to help evaluate players for league assignment. While placement across Instructional, Farm, Minors, and Major leagues will continue to be driven primarily by age, skill level will also become a consideration. The purpose of this change is to help better align player skill sets with safety requirements, methods used for skill development, and game play.

Who should attend: BLL players ages 7-12.
Players: Please arrive 15 minutes before your session as each player needs to sign-in.
Coaches and volunteers: Please arrive 30 minutes early to help set up and learn about your roles and responsibilities.
Cost: There is NO fee for this Pre-Season Clinic.
Player Evaluations: Player evaluations will be subtle. The clinic will be administered with a variety of hitting, fielding, and throwing stations. As the players practice at these stations, “Roaming” Coaches will be evaluating each player. This series of current data points will be coupled with prior history of coach evaluations and used for league placement and team balancing. This formal evaluation process will ensure proper placement to keep children safe while giving them an opportunity to have fun and compete based on their ability.
What to wear: SportsPlex is an indoor facility. Your child can wear baseball pants or sweat pants, a tee shirt and sneakers (no cleats).
What to bring: Please bring your child’s bat, batting helmet, glove and water bottle.
When does the spring season start and end: Based on the weather and many other factors we are planning to start the spring season the week after April vacation and end the middle of June. This schedule was designed to have limited overlap with other spring sports.
