MASCO YOUTH FIELD HOCKEY 2020 SEASON

Objective:

MYFH’s mission is to teach fundamentals and provide exposure to the sport of field hockey. During this uncertain time, our goal is to provide a physical and emotional outlet for players, while also staying safe and true to our overall mission.

Season:  Sept 22nd - Nov 1st

***Registration will open the week of September 14th.  Still waiting for sign-off from the Town of Boxford and we are keeping it close to the start of the season to make sure Covid numbers stay where they are and there are no issues opening up registration***

Tentative Weekly Schedule

All outdoor practices and games will be held at Boxford Common.  We have both the turf and grass fields, so we can rotate groups through the grass field as needed. Players to be placed in teams (training cohort) of 10 players with a coach and will remain in the SAME group for the duration of the season.

TUESDAY       7th-8th   3:00 or 3:30 (depending on coach availability) – 4:30 pm

                        5th-6th   5:00 – 6:30 pm

THURSDAY    7th-8th   3:00 or 3:30 (depending on coach availability) – 4:30 pm

3rd-4th   5:00 – 6:00 pm (can be extended to 6:30 depending if coaches want)

K-2nd     5:00 – 6:00 pm Tentative practice time slot.  Will depend upon registration numbers and interest.

SUNDAY         K-2nd    8:00 – 9:00 am

                        3rd-4th   8:00 – 9:00 am

                        5th-6th   9:30 – 11:00 am

                        7th-8th   11:30 am – 1:00 pm

Focus on Sundays to be scrimmages/games and small group competition depending upon numbers within the age group.  We are working to finalize games against teams from other towns, but the situation remains fluid.  It is shaping up that we should have a few games for 5th/6th and 7th/8th groups.  Game play for younger groups will depend upon registration numbers on our end and within other towns.

***Game play against other towns is not required.  If you prefer to only scrimmage within the tri-town, please let us know and we will factor that into group placement.***
