Practices will be offered three times a week, however, players may pick the day(s) of the week they will attend at the beginning of the season, though you can attend them all!  This allows players participating in multiple sports an opportunity to try field hockey.  All practices to be held on turf.

Grades 7th – 8th

For the second year, the 7th and 8th grade level will be incorporated into the local Middle School league providing our players with highly competitive full-field, 11 v 11 game play.  We believe that this best prepares players for high school competition and club play, while also improving their overall fitness.  Travel to 2-3 local away games over the course of the season is required.

All practices and home games will be held at Boxford Commons with games always on the turf.  We anticipate having two teams in this age group.  When one team has a home game, the other team will practice on the grass field at Boxford Commons (subject to field opening for play this summer).  This will allow players to learn skills specific to grass in preparation for high school with a grass home field.

All teams will be balanced by skill and age.

Registration includes hiring head coaches and two local tournaments to be coordinated by coaches during the season.

VOLUNTEERS & COACHING CLINIC

The success of our program is highly dependent upon our volunteers. We are looking for help in a variety of ways.  Please contact us if you can help in any way.

To be a coach you are not expected to have played field hockey nor be a field hockey expert.  We will be hosting a field hockey fundamentals class prior to the start of the season. A CORI form must be completed annually for all our coaching volunteers.
