B.A.A. Covid-19 Refund Policy

Due to forces beyond the control of the Boxford Athletic Association, Inc., unfortunately the Boxford Athletic Association must cancel the spring 2020 sports season.

The Boxford Athletic Association is a charitable, volunteer run, non-profit organization that manages the sports programs offered on tight, zero balance budgets. The Boxford Athletic Association programs incur some “hard costs”, such as, procurement of liability insurance and equipment (e.g. balls and nets) prior to the start of each season.

With the loss of the spring 2020 season due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, the Boxford Athletic Association refund policy for the spring 2020 season is as follows:

  • With regard to our eighth graders, who will age out of our programs, each eighth grader will be refunded a pro-rated amount of the spring 2020 program registration fee, (i.e. registration less hard costs incurred);
  • For all participants who have not aged out of BAA programs, the spring 2020 registration fee will be rolled over toward the next sports season that each previously registered participant wishes to participate in.
  • Notwithstanding the foregoing, the Boxford Athletic Association appreciates that the unprecedented situation created by Covid-19 Pandemic may create hardships for Boxford families, and upon, requests presented, by email, to:  The Program Director for each cancelled program, prior to June 15, 2020.  All refunds will be reviewed and approved on a case by case basis.  Prorated refunds for the spring 2020 season, will be issued within a few weeks after the deadline.

At your option, if you wish to donate the spring 2020 registration fee to the Boxford Athletic Association, please inform your program director, as the Boxford Athletic Association is a charitable corporation, such donations should be tax deductible.

April 7, 2020 Coronavirus Update

Boxford Athletic Association, Inc. update on the Covid-19 Pandemic on community sporting activities.

As the weather warms, and where we would traditionally be in the midst of practices and preparing for games the B.A.A. appreciates everyone’s patience as we collectively work through the unprecedented challenges caused by the Covid-19 Pandemic.

Based on the ongoing need to continue to support the common sense “social distancing” protocols, the status of the 2020 spring season remains unclear.  The B.A.A. holds out hope that a spring season might still occur.  The B.A.A. is working with our local authorities and will adhere to Federal, State and Local guidance on the best practices to mitigate against the Pandemic.

Currently, State and County program authorities are meeting regularly to assess the viability of a 2020 spring sports season.  Such spring season will undoubtedly be different from past seasons.  The season may be shortened, or occur on different timelines, however, it is a very real possibility that the 2020 spring season will be lost.

The B.A.A. is meeting regularly to assess the situation, and in accordance with State and County program authorities and Federal, State and Local guidance on the best practices, will determine how to proceed moving forward.

The B.A.A. remains committed to keeping Boxford updated as information affects our sporting community.

March 13,2020 Corona virus

Due to the unfolding challenges presented by the Corona Virus, the Boxford Athletic Association is suspending all athletic programs.  It is hoped that we can get out and play shortly, but in the meantime, it is prudent to practice social distancing, and this requires suspension of the program activities.  As more information becomes available, we will update the B.A.A. community.
